River Tree Arts seemingly moves
a bit into the esoteric by presenting its current show "Pastels
Only," considering that the "pastel" medium is often
not all that high on many artists' preferred list as are oils and,
of course, water media including acrylics. . . .
Anne Gabe Allaire's "Solitude, Franciscan Monastery," awarded
Best in the Show, also exemplifies the importance of technical skill,
understanding light, rapport with subject and the ability to bring
them all together in the service of the art being created. In "Solitude,
Franciscan Monastery" Allaire imbues a simple wood scene with
dramatic spotted light and a sense of serene eternity. . .
